Pinch-running after a batter had drawn a walk, I moved over to second on another walk and then inexplicably chose to tag up on a fly ball to right field. I was safe, not that I had any help from my third base coach, who gave me no indication how close the throw was to getting me out.

My first visit to the trainer's room, to fix my boo-boo.

I think this is why sliding isn't recommended...
Craig's tag-up from second really demonstrated his philosophy of aggressive baserunning: the "fly ball to right" was really more of a pop up to shallow right-center. After running a few steps down toward third while tracking the ball, he casually came back second as the ball was caught, and then took off for third. When I came out to play third base in the next inning, I could clearly see Craig's 10 foot long landing strip.
